new beginnings

Here goes nothing – I have finally decided to move from http://www.aspotoftea.ca/knitting/

I stopped blogging partly because my aunt died on Halloween 2008. She was the main reason for continuing. Also, I am not really a blogger – it’s not my favourite media but since I really enjoy the blogs that I do follow, I thought why not try again? I have made a lot of progress in my knitting since I first started 3 yrs ago and I am even looking into buying a spinning wheel, but more on that in other posts.

Onto knitting stuff: Tempted so many times, I finally picked up a skein of Alpaca with a Twist Fino in colour 3001 “ruby slippers”. I was completely inspired by the colours of the peaches and mangos yesterday morning so I think when I saw this colour that was so close to the natural colours of the fruit, I had to buy it:

I have cast on for the Whisper Cardigan [via ravelry] in this Spring 2009 Interweave magazine with the yarn.

Here’s to new beginnings – I know Yvonne looked forward to my updates through the blog so I named it after her. The house that she lived in was called Welford, named after the village she and my dad are from in England (Welford-upon-Avon).  Cheers.
