WIPs Wednesday … one day late!

I am going to start trying to do a weekly “Work In Progress Wednesday” post since I don’t seem to finish things very quickly these days. Funny how that happens when you have small children, two dogs and other responsibilities, huh?! Yes, it still baffles me. I guess I need to accept that there are only so many hours in the day!

So, what have you been working on?

I’ve been working away on only one project: My Fading Lines cardigan designed by Joji Locatelli.

I have to admit, I am having anxiety about this one. Going into it, I knew the sweater body which is knit out of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift wasn’t an exact match to my Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts Falkland handspun. I did know, however, that there was a lot of the colour in the handspun so close enough to be a good partner. But now I’m not so sure.

I have come to the realisation that it is incredibly hard to tell about anything when it is crumpled up on the needles, too, so rather than cut my losses and rip out … I’m going to finish the collar and assess from there. Thus far, I am not sold. In fact I am very very very tempted to rip rip rip but … it might surprise me … right?!

Often, my plan of action in these situations is to finish whatever it is that I am unsure about and hang it on my dressform for a week or so. If I am still feeling negative, I rip with no remorse because I know I will never love it after that time. I think what I should have done was a few blending rows with the Jamieson’s in the collar. If I rip, that is what I will try!

I’ll keep you posted …

Happy knitting :)
