Episode 8 :: Lazily Eating Ice Cream

August 2015

I say in the beginning that this won’t be published until NEXT weekend as I am waiting on something. If that something comes, there will be an extra episode in August!

For show notes, see below. If I haven’t linked to something, please leave a comment and I will share the links. Also, if you have any questions about spinning techniques, how I do certain things or anything else, PLEASE PLEASE ask in the comments! I would love to address some of your questions about spinning in future episodes.

Thank you for watching!

  1. Enjoyed your show today as I walked on my treadmill.
As a beginner spinner I enjoy listening to your process as you explain how you divide your braids and then show the finished yarns. I enjoy looking at all the pretty fibers dyed up but sometimes it can be a challenge to spin them into yarns I like. I am eager to try the combination drafting you explained.
I also enjoy the shows where you talk about processing raw fleece. I was gifted some raw Corriedale that I washed and spun. I also have been spinning from a sampler kit of different types of fleece. Spinning has really taken my knitting to a new level as I am learning so much about fiber.

    1. Thank you so much for your comments and watching the show. That’s great feedback about what you enjoy so that I can focus on that in the future! Sounds like you have found in spinning what I was looking for as well. I see spinning as a way to get the yarns that I really want to work with – and working with raw is awesome to do this!! Thanks again :)

  2. Finally got some quiet time this week to watch the August videocast. Thanks again for another thoughtful and informative show! So many good ideas. I want to try a combo spin. And the capsule wardrobe thoughts have been swirling around my mind for a few years — now gaining urgency. My brother gave me an Alabama Chanin book for my birthday this summer.

    1. Oh wonderful! Yes, the capsule wardrobe seems to need some time to fester before really being able to take the challenge on. Thank you for watching!! And taking the time go get in touch :)
