a simple poll.

Dear Fibre Friends,

The Fall is always a time for reflection and taking stock of items in my life. I have always felt that September 15th would be a very natural New Years for me! As such, I am taking this time to really think about what I want this space to continue to evolve into over the coming year.

What do you want to read about on the blog? When I first started blogging, it was an opportunity to journal my reflections about my projects, both good and bad. As the years have gone on (and on), I am aware that I have a small readership who I so so appreciate! Some of my content is still mostly for selfish needs to just write down what I did for a specific project. But more and more, my posts are more geared towards sharing reviews, the podcast and learning points. And I’d love your input. What do you like best?! It helps me decide if I should continue to say, do reviews? or the podcast? or … something else entirely? Do newsletters in your inbox make your heart sing or sink? Leave comments below as they are really helpful!

For the spinners out there, particularly those who feel they still have much to learn (like myself!), What would you like to read about when it comes to hand spinning? My process? Prepping? Finishing? Specific learning points? For example, the difference between scotch tension and double drive? That kind of thing? I’d love love love to hear from you!

Please help me out with the survey below — you can check as many as are applicable to you!

As always, Happy Crafting :)

  1. HI Rachel
I wanted to say thank you for the inspiration and information passed on through your podcast. It must be an enormous amount of work but it’s valuable and entertaining. I wish more podcasts were devoted to spinning like yours. Whatever you decide, the information you share is appreciated! If I had the time, and actually got more prep and projects done, I would love to do the same. For now I enjoy hearing about your fibre projects and am inspired to try more by watching your podcast/reading your posts! Thanks for all your work!

    1. Thank you, Lisa and thank you so much for taking the time to write! I really appreciate it. If there’s anything specific you’re looking to learn, please let me know!!!

  2. Sorry I’m a bit late but I also wanted to say how much I am enjoying your podcast. I’m addicted to knitting and dying and spinning is my next project. I haven’t had time to look at all the podcasts (no time!) but I am working my way through them and hoping to catch a bit of live spinning.
So thank you. I can see you put a lot of time and effort into it and I want you to know that I really appreciate it it from half way around the globe.

    1. Thank you so much Claire and thank you taking the time to write! I really appreciate it, too :)

  3. I was a knitter first but added spinning and dyeing a long time ago (35yrs) ! Today I found your blog and vidcasts today from a link on Sarah’s of FiberTrek-you two could be sisters! I so enjoyed having you in for a visit to share your fiber journey! I have watched all of them today-it is nice to see your progress in front of the wheel and camera! The very joys you are discovering with wool will keep your attention for decades to come! Nice work!

    1. Thank you so much!!

  4. I just enjoy your podcast so much and look forward to your continuing your exploration into the world of fiber. I’ve been spinning for 15 years and I so enjoy your fresh outlook and experimentation with things I am going to try.
