Charlie.

Sometimes there are no words.

To have a dog’s love woven into the story of your life is a God gift.

I’m thankful for that quote from a friend. We will miss Charlie immensely and I’m so thankful to the community for the kind words you’ve sent already.

We made the painful decision on Friday to help him leave us on Sunday morning. Saturday was dubbed ‘Charlie’s Day’ by my son. We went to the park and played, took some photos and visited with friends on our street who all wanted to say goodbye. We had many nicknames for our Charlie, including but not limited to C-Bear, Bears, Big Tuna, Tuna, Tuna Fish and of course, Charlie-pup-pup (my nickname for him).

He is much missed and has left a hole in our home, hearts and lives.

Neither heights nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God.

The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.

Rachel so sorry for your loss. Charlie sounds like a wonderful dog. Hang on to his memories. They will be the part of him you will always have. Your family could pick a time of day to share a story about Charlie. We lost our beautiful working dog last May. I planted a lavender garden where she is buried. ❤️And hugs

  11. Reading your sentiments about Charlie broke my heart. I have a black Lab named Jettie, and she has that same sweet look in her eyes that Charlie does. Great love always leaves such an ugly vacuum when it leaves. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing all the sweet photos.

  12. I’m so sorry. We had to make the same tough decision for our golden Sam this past winter-he was just 8 and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. It’s so tough….

Thank you for sharing your world with us all. You have been a heroic role model with your transparency and wisdom, nurturing and protecting your family including Charlie, while sharing and encouraging us with your beautiful Spinning and knitting. My prayers for you and your family in your time of loss. I look forward to saying hi to Charlie in heaven.
