Charlotte.
It feels like I wrote this post just yesterday but it was back in April here. I said good-bye to Charlotte suddenly this past week when her happy self greeted us at the door when Norah and I got home from school drop off. She went outside and never returned. Instead, she’d laid down quietly on the porch in the sun and breathed her last breath.
How lucky I am having something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Charlotte “Hoopie”, gone but never forgotten. November 2008 – February 26, 2019
She was one of those amazing dogs who was always just there. And for that, we treasured her. While I am completely heartbroken, I am thankful for her peaceful leaving. I am glad we were home and able to tend her immediately. And I am thankful she wasn’t alone.
The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.
Rachel so sorry for your loss. Our fur babies come into our lives and too quickly they have to leave us. Hang onto her memories❤️🐾🐾❤️
Thank you Pat – yes, so so so true!
My heart aches for you and your family. I understand and wish you peace.
Thanks Debby <3
Charlotte left paw prints on your hearts and special memories… Sorry for your loss
Thank you Judith – you’re right
Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. I know that loosing Charlotte is like a close family member ( like a sister or a brother) is gone. You will see her again at that rainbow bride where we have to cross when we go, she’ll be there waiting on you while she plays with friends up there.
I am so very sorry for the whole family!
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Hearing of a dog moving on always tugs on my heartstrings (big, big dog person here) and the unexpected nature of her passing makes it so much harder on everyone else.
But what a lovely way to go…….
I’m so sorry about Charlotte, Rachel. It sounds like you and your family gave her a wonderful life. Many blessings and condolences to you and your family.
Rachel I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. There are really no words to ease the pain. I am so sorry.
So sorry to read that Charlotte has passed away; it must be a huge loss for you all. I remember the difficult decision we had to make a few years ago when we lost Miffy, our Large Munsterlander, who was the gentlest dog I’d ever met.
So sorry to hear abouth you loss, condolences to the hole family. She had a lovely passing although. Big hug
Rachel, I’m a bit late on my condolences, but my heart goes out to you and yours. Charlotte was a wonderful pup and we’re sending lots of love and hugs from our house (and pups) to yours. <3
Thank you Melissa — you’re very kind! 💕
I’m so sorry Rachel (and family) – it sounds as if it was peaceful for her, but still painful.
