About

greater Vancouver area, BC, Canada

I’m creative, caring and humorous. I love to laugh and chat about what inspires people.

In the past, I would have said my favourite crafting is my knitting but that has changed to be handspinning. I still share my ideas, projects, pitfalls and successes around knitting, but my focus is to share in depth about my spinning, weaving & knitting.  I am looking forward to sharing that journey with you here.

Some fun facts about me?

  • My husband and I met at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany,
  • We are currently in the throws of raising a little boy named James and a little girl named Norah,
  • My favourite colours are ochre yellows and navy blue, and
  • If pressed, I would say I’m a sweater knitter & evolving weaver.

  1. So happy to find your blog and video podcasts! I have many episodes to catch up on (fun!), which I will do while spinning and knitting. I’m really looking forward to learning and hearing more about knitting with handspun–which I have only just started to do. I love spinning and knitting . . . but I often cannot bring myself to knit with my handspun. How ironic, right? So nice to make your virtual acquaintance!

    1. Lovely to meet you! I’m so glad you reached out! Yes, I found it hard at first and then as my stash of handspun grew, I had to use it! And then it was addictive ;)

  2. Looking forward to reading your blog!

  3. Hi Rachel
Love your video podcast, love your blog, love just everything about it.
Soooooo glad I came across it.

I’m a 53 year old german born male knitter who recently got into spinning and now I’m hooked (or obsessed??)
Can’t wait for my Ashford wheel to arrive.
I already got so many tips from your blog and just today ordered “Wool spinning beyond the basics”.

    Thanks for all your help.
