Recently, I’ve had some questions that come up regularly. I wanted to address them here so that you will be able to learn about the Patreon community, how to support my work and, most importantly, how to get involved!
What is Patreon?
I use Patreon to run the community because it is a third party platform that helps me (as a small business owner) manage things like taxes in different countries, as well as, tech support and billing. Patreon is a membership platform that enables creators to earn income directly from their fans, or “patrons.” It allows artists, writers, podcasters, and other creators to offer exclusive content, early access, or other perks in exchange for monthly subscriptions or one-time payments. Patreon helps creators build sustainable businesses by fostering closer relationships with their audience and reducing reliance on traditional revenue streams like advertising.

What is Slack?
I often talk about ‘the Slack channel’ and here, I am referring to the #general channel in particular but Slack is a messaging platform designed for teams and workplaces to communicate and collaborate more effectively. It offers real-time messaging, file sharing, and integration with a wide range of productivity tools. Users can organize conversations into channels based on topics, projects, or teams, and also send direct messages for private conversations. Slack is widely used to streamline communication, reduce email overload, and enhance team productivity. For a quick video about Slack in the Wool n’ Spinning community, please watch here.

As more FAQs come up, I will address them here! Please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or question on this page so that I can address it!
