February {Videopurl}. Episode 2 ~ The one with many parts.

I can’t believe we are in February already! Welcome to Episode 2. It seems fitting that I spend quite a bit of the show talking about fractal spinning and this ended up being recorded in a few parts! I hope it’s not too choppy for you while you watch :) Thank you for bearing with me!

For show notes, see below. If I haven’t linked to something, please leave a comment and I will share the links. Also, if you have any questions about spinning techniques, how I do certain things or anything else, PLEASE PLEASE ask in the comments! I would love to address some of your questions about spinning in future episodes.

Lastly, I am so sorry about the noise from Norah in the last part – she was toodling around and playing but that made a lot of noise! I have to take my opportunities to record when I can :)

  1. Another fantastic show! I’m so glad you’re going into more detail about how you are prepping the fiber. I had meant to ask you to do that after the last show and totally forgot, so I was super happy to see that somebody else had made that request. I was seconds away from pulling out my TWF fiber for a combo spin while I watched you!! Love the new camera, love that you’re on YouTube, and extra love how much you talked about!!

  2. Thank you Rachel for all that great info about your spinning. That’s the first I’ve heard of the combo spin technique and really learned a lot. Also the fractal spinning explanation was so clear…again something that can be confusing you explained so well!
Not sure if I missed it in your description of the Clun Forest prep…are you combing it or carding it? I watched Chrissy too so heard her explain a bit also. If you are doing it different ways it would be great to hear how u think the yarns are different or similar. Love your spinning based show and all the info and demos! Thanks for taking the time to do this!!

    1. Thank you so much Lisa! I was worried my explanations were long winded but i know it’s hard to find some of this information out there so thought it might be useful. Thank goodness it is! I’m coming my Clun forest so Chrissy and I will have different experiences which will be great for us to talk about :) thanks again! Happy spinning!
