Episode 89 Live: A Mash-up of Projects

Thank you for joining me this week! Thank to you those who joined us in the Live Stream and took some time out of your day to spend it with me – I really appreciate it! Remember to participate in our book club discussion – and don’t forget to write your own stash essay that might be featured on the blog. I have some patterns to giveaway from Kelly G. Knits. Thank you to Kelly for the giveaway. I announce another giveaway for everyone to participate in as well. Just  tell us who your favourite people are to spin with in the Ravelry thread! We get quite side-tracked and talk about finishing our yarns for quite a while, then we talk about all things cotton and some project planning for that spin, and lastly, I share a new spinning wheel that I ordered about month ago. I hope you enjoy the show!

For everyone to participate in:

Head over to the February episode thread to answer the above question to win the 100 grams of Montadale Top from Sheepspot!

We have book club going on in the group, I hope you will join us in reading A Stash of One’s Own by Clara Parkes. Please don’t forget to submit your own essay on your ideas around stash to be featured on the blog!

Projects Shared this week:

I finished and spoke about this spin last week but I washed and finished it over the past 2 weeks. We get into a good conversation about finishing yarns as a result!

Next, I speak about a cotton project I’ve been working on quietly. I’m planning to crochet this shawl after I finish some sampling over the next month or so.

Lastly, I’m working on this new spin from some of my own homedyed fibre from 2015 that is an interesting blend of Merino/Alpaca/Nylon/Silk. I’m working on my new Ashford eSpinner 3 for this spin!

I hope you will join us next time, February 20th @ 12:30pm PST!

Happy Spinning!

Rachel
