SKEINED!

MellyKnits Sommelier – May 2025 – Bond ‘Sefa’, 2-ply, 5 samples total {Ravelry Project Page here}

  • April marked the 1-year anniversary of the Sommelier fibre club – Melissa decided to do something special and create a Speed Date of the differen wools that she featured in the different clubs. This one (that I spun for her) was the Origins Anniversary Speed Date (white/grey colour theme): ‘Sefa’ Bond dated Dorset, ‘Astrid’ WensleydalexBFL, ‘Mike’ Icelandic & ‘Pebbles’ Alpaca.
  • Bond, sometimes known as ‘commercial Corriedales’ or ‘Bond Corriedales’, wool is a cross between Lincoln rams & Merino ewes. Often similar to Corriedale, Bond is slightly finer, longer stapled & heavier fleeces. Great choice for soft, thick singles (compared to Merino on its own).

Spinning & Fibre Preparation

Coniagas Textiles – NZ Corriedale from Anna Grafton “Mocha” – 3.5- 4.5″ staple, ~20 micron {Ravelry Project Page here}
