Taking a little break from all of the Tour de Fleece stuff for a moment …
This project is a throwback to something I finished quite a while ago. I heavily modified the pattern and my notes are in this blog post here. I knit this while pregnant with James, who at the time was unknown in terms of gender. We found out after his birth, same as Norah.
I knit this little cardigan because I had seen some neat onessome neat ones on Ravelry, thought it was a great pattern and was convinced we were having a girl (which we weren’t!). As a result, I never got to take any photos of an actual baby wearing it. I also had no idea what size it was – turns out? She’s been able to wear it since 6 months. It just kind of keeps fitting. I think it’s the garter stitch and also the stretchy cast on edge at the neck, as well as the stretchy cast off at the arms. Sorry for the tiny photobomb in this photo below – it was a dogs tail but the very best photo to show the cardigan!

Yarn :: Cascade 220 9420 (teal-green)
Needles :: 5.00mm
These photos were taken inside as you can see so the quality isn’t awesome but you can see the little ladybug I placed on one of the leaves. I can’t take credit for that idea — you can find the original here.
I worked the entire body in garter stitch as I loved this look as opposed to the St st body. When I knit this again (I’m planning one for this fall for Norah), I’ll do the garter body again. I added a few rows to make up for the row gauge of garter (it’s generally smaller than St st).
