Little Lighthouse Pullover

Yarn: Berroco Vintage in colours 51105 (purple) & 6537 (minty)

Needles: 4.00mm and 4.5mm

I put all of my projects on hold and only worked on this last week – I call it ‘Norah’s 3-Day Sweater’ because, well, it took me three days to complete! I love worsted weight yarn and stockinet stitch. There is just nothing like it! Back in January, I have taken her to my LYS and showed her the wall of Berroco Vintage. I’d told her she could choose two colours that she loved. The purple she chose immediately and to go with it, she chose a Hunter Green. Some would love that combination but I have to admit, it made me cringe so I gave her two other choices: a light lime green or the seafoam green she ended up choosing. It was a good way to get out of the Hunter green debacle without having to tell her no.

I followed the pattern to a tee. I didn’t really deviate from it although my row gauge was significantly off so I stopped short on the colour work about 6 rows and switched to the ribbing. Initially, per the pattern, I had seamed the neck down but she didn’t like it and asked me to change it back so I ripped out my seaming thread and it is now a mock turtleneck. I think she didn’t like the tightness of the seamed collar. Part of me wants to rip out the collar and tighten it up so that it lays flat but it’s super cute as is … so I’ll leave it.

This was hugely satisfying and gave me the break from my other projects that I’ve been really craving so that felt really good. Do you need breaks from your projects sometimes? What do you normally turn to?
